About Us ♡
Welcome to TEENS4ODAW Overdose Awareness. We’re 5 teenagers in high school from Indiana who want to make a difference in the tragic epidemic of overdoses. There are no limits to this problem. So we want to do our best to educate people of all ages, starting in schools in Allen County. Teens4ODAW is dedicated to spreading awareness on overdose prevention and harm reduction. We will achieve our goals through a four-part solution approach:1. High-schoolers Interested in Getting Help (HIGH) is a program that will be dedicated to helping teenagers get a good understanding of the issue, from teenagers themselves, and provide resources.2. With the help of our school and our business partners we’re creating an online course, Teen2Parent to educate parents on how to start these tough conversations with their kids, in an effective way, that will make them feel comfortable.3. We are creating kits, which we are calling "Alive Boxes". Alive Boxes are discreet boxes that can be delivered, aimed at harm reduction and overdose prevention and treatment. The Stay Alive box is aimed for active users who aren’t ready to quit using, but don't want to die. The Friend Alive Box is for anyone who wants to take the extra precaution and be ready for anything. The Be Alive Box is for people who are trying to stop an addiction and who are going through a withdrawal.4. We are planning to start Youth Group for any teen to engage in meaningful activities to encourage prevention and recovery and just a safe space. Our partner For Lake’s Sake, is helping us in this process and providing us with Narcan. We believe everyone should carry narcan. You never know when you might be in that situation. Help us, make a difference, and spread awareness about this epidemic.
